ラジオ英会話の最終週は、毎月Special Week としてニュースや早口言葉、ユーモア、歌等等さまざまな英語を聞き取ってリスニング力を磨いたり、会話に必要な文法感覚を強化したりする学習方法です。

そして本日は昨年8月28日付けの英語のニュースです。

今日気づいたことは、日本人のスポーツに関するニュースですから、聞きやすかった、ということです。
つまり、知っている単語（日本人名）があれば聞きやすい、ということは、広く単語を知っていればもっとリスニング力は付くのに、と自覚させられました(^^;

なお、もう一つ英文があるのですが、それは明日以降にまた掲載します。

Harimoto becomes youngest ITTF World Tour winner

　Japan’s Tomokazu Harimoto has been crowned men’s singles champion at the International Table Tennis Federation World Tour, becoming the youngest-ever player to win the title.

　In the men’s final at the Czech Open, he came from behind to overwhelm German veteran Timo Boll 4-2. Boll, 36, has long been ranked number one in the world.

　At the age of 14, Harimoto is the youngest to have won a World Tour title. He broke the record of China’s Yu Ziyang, who was 16 when he won the Japan Open.

　Also in the women’s singles final match, Japan’s Mima Ito beat her teammate Kasumi Ishikawa to capture the title.

　Ito also won the women’s doubles title with her partner Hina Hayata.

　In men’s doubles, Japan’s Jin Ueda and Maharu Yoshimura finished second behind a German and Danish pair.

張本選手、ITTFワールドツアー史上最年少で優勝

日本の張本智和が、国際卓球連盟ワールドツアーで、男子シングルスのチャンピオンに輝き、史上最年少優勝を果たしました。

張本はチェコオープンの男子決勝で、ドイツのベテラン、ティモ・ボルを追い上げ、4-2で倒しました。36歳のボルはこれまで世界ランキング一位を長く維持してきました。

張本は14歳で、ワールドツアーの最年少優勝者となり、16歳のときにジャパンオープンで優勝した中国のユ・ジャンの記録を破りました。

また女子シングルス決勝戦では、日本の伊藤美誠がチームメイトの石川佳純を破り優勝しました。

伊藤は女子ダブルスでも早田ひなと君で優勝しました。

男子ダブルスでは、日本の上田仁と吉村真晴がドイツ・デンマークのペアに次いで2位となりました。（2017/8/28）
