Lesson 149 I’ve already finished all my exercise books
Sho: Hi, Mari. Can I talk to you now?
Mari: Sure. Actually, I was going to call you. You go first.
Sho: I was wondering if you still have any of the entrance exam exercise books you used in junior high school. If you do, can I borrow them?
Mari: Sure, but they’re quite old.
Sho: Perfect! I need to solve problems from past exams. I’ve already finished all my exercise books.
Mari: They should be in a cardboard box in my room’s closet. Use as many as you want.
Sho: Great, thanks!
Mari: Take care of yourself, Sho, not just for you, but for your family as well.
Sho: Of course!

Lesson 150 This will be harder than any question in my entrance exams
Mari: OK, my turn. My art group will be having an exhibition.
Sho: Dad told me you were getting ready for a group exhibition. When is it?
Mari: It’s on the third week of March. I’ll send invitations to every family member, including Mom.
Sho: I think that’s a good idea, because I’m sure everyone wants to see your work.
Mari: I want Mom and Grandma to meet at the exhibition.
Sho: Oh, boy. I don’t know….
Mari: And… I’d like you to bring Grandma to the exhibition. You are her favorite.
Sho: This will be harder than any question in my entrance exams. But I’ll make it happen. I promise.

p>Sho: That smells good, Grandma! What are you making?
Yoko: A special family soup dish, just for you. It’s soup with seasonal vegetables. It’ll warm you up, and give you lots of energy.
Sho: Wow, thanks!
Yoko: Your grandfather taught me how to prepare it. I made it for Mari when she was studying for her exams.
Sho: Did you make it for Mom, too?
Yoko: S…sorry?
Sho: Oh, you couldn’t hear me? Shall I say it again?
Yoko: No, no, I heard you. Your question surprised me, that’s all. Your mother had a weak stomach, so I always made it for her. She loved it.

Kanon: Yes.
Sho: Wow, a scarf and gloves. Did you make these, Kanon? They look great! Thank you so much!
