Mr. Tanaka: Hello, class. On your graduation day, we will bury a time capsule in the schoolyard. The capsule will have messages you write to yourselves in the future. I’d like all of you to take part in this.
Students: Yes, sir!
Miki: Mr. Tanaka, when do we open the time capsule?
Mr. Tanaka: We will open it at our 10-years reunion. So , please write a letter to yourself 10 years later.
Sho: What should we write?
Mr. Tanaka: Well, for example, you can write, “Did you become a school principal?” Write a question that you can answer in the future.
Sho: Yes, sir. Boy, this is going to be hard.
Lesson 161 Summary
Mr. Tanaka told his class they would bury a time capsule in the schoolyard.
Sho asked, “What should we write?”

Yota: Yeah. I usually run a different course from two.
Sho: I hope we can do it again.

Yota: I can’t promise anything. My soccer practice comes first.
Sho: That’s right. You want to become a first-string player from your first year.
Miki: That’s amazing, Yota. So, what will you do during spring break?
Yota: I will be going to see as many high school soccer matches as possible.
Miki: Both you and Sho are very passionate about what you enjoy.
Yota: Of course. If you like something, you want to be the best at it.
Lesson 162 Summary
Miki, Yota, and Sho all ran together.
Miki asked Yota, “What will you do during spring break?”
Yota said, “I will be going to see as many high school soccer matches as possible.”
Lesson 163 Did you find a place to stay?
Yota: Oh, Miki. Did you find a place to stay?
Sho: She will be staying at Mr. Aoki’s house.
Yota: Whoa, the new senior marathon champion? Why?
Miki: Mr. Aoki and my father worked at the same company 20 yeas ago. When my father told Mr. Aoki I was looking for a place in Tokyo, he said that I could stay at his place.
Yota: I bet his house has a tennis court.
Miki: He lives in a traditional Japanese house. There is no tennis court, but there’s a garden with a tea house.
Sho: What do you think about Mr. Aoki?
Miki: I think he’s loud on the outside, but thoughtful on the inside. He wins by working hard and preparing carefully.
Lesson 163 Summary
Miki decided to stay at Mr. Aoki’s house in Tokyo.
Sho asked, “what do you think about Mr. Aoki?”

Lesson 164 Will you be running Hanasato Ryokan in 10 years’ time?
Sho: I don’t know what to write for the time capsule. What about you guys?
Miki: I hope to be traveling around the world for my job, so I’ll write about that. What about you, Yota?
Yota: The same, but my letter will be very short.
Sho: 10 years from now, you will be an international soccer star!
Yota: Grazie, Sho!
Miki: Will you be running Hanasato Ryokan in 10 years time, Sho?
Sho: I won’t know until I’m in high school. I know I will be living here and running early every morning.
