not と any のコンビネーション。この使い方で注意すべきは、any は not の後ろにしか置けないということです。「何も～ない」は any を not で否定するところから生まれる使い方です。
②控えめな過去の助動詞
There are some ruins in Northern Africa that might help answer that question.

時刻は時間幅のない点として理解されるため at。日はステージ状の時間幅があり「その上」にいる感覚があるので on。「中に」が意識される in the afternoon など1日の中の時間帯や、週、月、年などには in。

時刻は「点」。sharp は「ちょうどに」。電車などタイムテーブルには現在形を使います。たとえ未来のことであっても、変更されることのない「現在の事実」です。
Our summer festival begins on Saturday.
「日」は on でした。この文もカレンダー上の行事であり、変更されることのない「現在の事実」。だから現在形。
Mom is sleeping in her bed.
「ベッドで」。寝ているのですから毛布などを掛けているので in。でも Mom is resting …（休んでいる）なら･･･on かな。何も掛けていないでしょうから。前置詞は感覚的です。
