「授与型」を取る動詞、続けましょう。「奪う」につながる動詞など、授与のイメージがマッチする動詞はたくさんあります。

Hitoshi: Thanks for coming. Here, you have to try this corn.
Jolene: It’s so good! By the way, is your daughter Sakura coming?
Hitoshi: No, she’s still in Hawaii on her honeymoon.
Jolene: Oh, right. You said she got married to a doctor.

cost は「（費用が）かかる」。こうした「与える」と逆の方向性を持った単語が授与型に使われると「奪う」意味関係となります。「マイナス方向の授与」ということですね。
