matter は「考慮・処理すべき事柄」。a matter of urgency(急を要する事柄)はまとめて覚えましょう。
 
ケン、ミーティングの手配を、そうだな、明日の朝イチに向けてお願いできるかな。
Ken, could I ask you to arrange a meeting for, let’s say, first thing tomorrow morning?
 
first thing tomorrow morning は「明日の朝イチに」。let’s say の使われるタイミングをしっかり身につけましょう。
