会社の重要なメンバーのひとり、ケンが退職することになり、お別れ会をレストランで催すことになりました。
「来週金曜日6時半からジェニーズでやることになっている」と言う同僚に、了解の旨を伝えてください。
例えば「それでいいよ。そのレストランは私たちの職場に近いからみんな間に合うと思う。彼は会社の重要なメンバーだったからちょっとしたプレゼントをあげてもいいと思わない?何が適当だと思う?」とか。

Since he’s been such a big part of our company, he deserves a little present from us, don’t you think?
 
Since はややフォーマルな理由(~なので)を表す接続詞。deserve (~に値する)は重要動詞。

うん、それでいい。ジェニーズはオフィスにとても近いから6時半までにそこに行くのは問題ないよ。
Yes. That’s fine with me. Jenny’s is really close to our office, so getting there by 6:30 is not a problem.
 
Jenny’s から始まる文では、 getting there by 6:30 が主語として使われています。「6時半までに着くのは」ということ。
 
ケンは僕たちに会社の成長に大きな役割を果たしてきたから、ちょっとした感謝の印をあげるのも当然だよね。
 
as は「理由」を表す接続詞。play a role(役割を果たす)に large を使っています。「大きな役割を果たしてきました」。後半の it’s also only natural は「至って当然、至極当たり前」。token は「印」のこと。a token of our appreciation(感謝の印)はまとめて覚えましょう。
