Derek: Hi, Cynthia. It’s Derek. Sorry to call you so out of the blue.

Cynthia: No problem, Derek. How have you been?

Derek: Fine, but I’ve been bored. I was thinking about returning to the band.

Cynthia: Um, I have to tell you something. I’m no longer the manager for the Desperate Rats.

Derek: What happened?

Cynthia: I quit. I’ve decided to become a teacher.

Derek: Wow, I had no idea.

Cynthia: That’s what Bill said too. Things are still up in the air, though.
