過去の状況について反事実の仮定をしてみましょう。
If I had reacted more quickly, I would have caught the pickpocket.
If I had invested more wisely, I could have been a millionaire!
If you hadn’t braked hard, you might have crashed into the cyclist.
過去の仮定・現在の帰結
ハイブリッドパターンの練習です。
If you had treated your girlfriend better, she would still be with you now.
If you hadn’t wasted your money, you could own a luxury apartment by now.
If you son had practiced much harder, he might be a top golfer now.
wish を使った仮定法
wish に仮定法を伴う節をつなげる。この感覚を練習しておきましょう。
I wish I spoke Japanese more fluently.
