Mr. Kajiwara: David, please wear these kanjiki.
David: Kanjiki?
Mr. Kajiwara: They’re snowshoes the Japanese have used for a lomg time.
David: I’ve never seen snowshoes like these before.
Mr. Kajiwara: They’re perfect for smooth walking on snow.
David: These are great!
Mr. Kajiwara: I understand you want to take photos for the town during sunrise from the mountain peak. This mountain is just the place for that.
David: Thank you! By the way, how long have you been climbing mountains?
Mr. Kajiwara: Since I was in elementary school. What about you?
David: I started climbing in high school. I also started photography then.
Mr. Kajiwara: OK, let’s try to reach the peak before the sun rises.
Lesson 137 Summary
David and Mr. Kajiwara were walking to the mountain peak.
David asked him, “How long have you been climbing mountains?”

Sho: Be careful, David! I’m worried you’ll fall if you move too much.
David: Oh!

David: How beautiful Sakurayama looks from here! This is such a great
view, but I’ve never taken a single picture from here.
Sho: My family loves watching Sakurayama from the room below the roof,
especially during the cherry blossom season.
David: Sho, et’s make sure you can see the cherry blossoms with everyone
in your family this year.
Sho: You got it, David!
Lesson 140 Summary
David was on the roof of Hanasato Ryokan.
He was looking for a good spot to take a picture of the ryokan’s yard covered in snow.
