①「カタマリ」を扱う力
We need to build a strong fence to protect our town.
ある程度の長さの文を気軽に口にするためには「カタマリ」をまとめて操作する力が求められます。ここでは to 不定詞のパッケージ。need の目的語の位置に to build a strong fence …の大きなカタマリをぽつんと置いて、「柵を立てる必要がある」とその目的語にする感覚。
build a strong fence の後ろに to protect our town.というカタマリを置いて、その説明（ここでは「柵を立てる目的」ですね）とする感覚。ひとつひとつの単語ではなく、カタマリを意識し配置する力が長い文を作る原動力です。
②Let’s ～の文
Let’s work together to find the best solution.
Let’s ～の「～しよう」は勢いよく相手を引っ張る感覚で使います。Shall we ～？も「～しましょう」という訳になりますが、こちらは相手の意向を尊重したやわらかい表現となります。

of を「～の」と考えれば、この形は少々理解しづらいと思います。でも前回 of は単に「名詞による説明を加える」と理解した皆さんなら、すぐに使いこなせる形です。an issue を「大きな重要性」で説明しているだけのことですから。
an important issue って言えばいいんじゃないの？」と思われるかもしれませんが、of を使ったこの言い回しは大変便利。importance は名詞ですから、形容詞を使ってバリエーション豊かに表現できるのです。
This is an issue of importance. これは重要な問題だ。
This is an issue of extreme importance.これは極度の重要性がある問題だ。
This is an issue of some importance.これはいくぶん重要な問題だ。
This is an issue of little importance.これはほとんど重要でない問題だ。
This is an issue of no importance.これはまったく重要でない問題だ。
さて、of を「～の」ではなく感覚で理解したなら､次の使い方も不思議ではないはず。
