レッスンのポイント
listen は聴覚に関わる重要動詞。音が向こうからやって来る hear とは大きくイメージが異なります。

出版社の社員、ジェイソンとモニかが新刊書の宣伝方法について話し合っています。
Jason: Monica, have you thought of something to promote the new book?
Monica: Yes. I think we should make a doll of the author in a Hawaiian shirt.
Jason: A doll of the author?
Monica: Yes, we can give it as a present to people who buy the book.
Jason: The cost of making the dolls would be too high.
Monica: I disagree.
Jason: Listen to me. This is a bad idea.
Monica: Well, if you say so. You’re the boss.

think of は「思いつく」。いろいろ考えている場合は think about。使い分けましょう。

hear が「聞こえる」――音が「向こうからやってくる」感覚で使われる単語であるのに対し、listen（聞く）は自発的・積極的な行為――「耳を傾ける」。
