Dad: Sure, but I was going to cook something.

Roxy: Grandma and Grandpa are coming here tomorrow.

Dad: I know, but what does that have to do with it?

Roxy: Mom wants to keep the kitchen clean.

Dad: All right. Hey, Roxy, what do you think of me taking a cooking class?

Roxy: Why? You already know how to cook.

Dad: I want to learn Japanese cooking.

Roxy: Oh, Mom would love that.

Grandma: Adam? It’s Mom.

Adam: Hi, Mom. Are you at the airport?

Grandma: Yes, we just went through immigration and are waiting for our suitcases.

Adam; Excellent. How was the flight?

Grandma: It was fine. We had a few rough spots, though.

Adam: Great. How’s Dad doing?

Grandma: He says he wants to eat ramen.

Adam: I will pick you up at the arrival area in about ten minutes. How does that sound?

Grandma: That’s perfect, son.

Adam: All right. See you soon.

Zaytox: Hi, Masami. You didn’t have to rush over.

Masami: I didn’t want you to leave suddenly. What’s happening? What are you doing here?

Zaytox: I escaped from a laboratory in America.

Masami: Yes, I heard about that from Carolyn. But what are you going to do now?

Zaytox: I want to make some friends.

Masami: Can I introduce you to my friend Sota? He really wants to meet you.

Zaytox: Why?

Masami: He has never seen an alien before.

Frankie: I saw these beautiful roses. My girlfriend Jeannie loves roses.

Barbara: I’m sure she does, but you can’t take flowers from here.

Frankie: Why not?

Barbara: What’s wrong with you? You can’t just pick roses from someone’s garden without asking!

Frankie: I was going to pay for them later.

Barbara: Pay for them? They’re not for sale. This isn’t a flower shop.

Frankie: But there’s a sign here that says “For Sale.”

Barbara: That means the house, not the flowers!
