Roxy: No, thank you. How’s the cake?
William: Wonderful! This is a Victoria sponge cake. How did you make it?
Roxy: I watched a video on the internet and followed the instructions. It was easy.
William: That’s amazing. Computers have really changed our lives.
Roxy: Compared to when? We’ve always had them.
William: Victorian times, for example. Speaking of Victorian times, here’s an old photo of my great-great-grandmother, Lucy Robinson.
Roxy: Wow, I can see the resemblance.
Shiho: Yeah, I usually watch old films too. What are you watching now, Doug?
Doug: School Kid Wizard. I like the movie better than the book.
Shiho: Did you read the book?
Doug: Well, most of it.
Shiho: I had some problems with the casting. Like, they should have used a blonde-haired boy for the main character. In the book he is a blonde.
Doug: Well, the actor with dark hair did a good job.
Shiho: True.
Daiki: Um, no. This is a real estate agency.
Shizuka: I saw your sign outside. It said, “Valentine’s Day Specials.”
Daiki: That’s what it says, yes. The problem is that it refers to apartments. We’re having a promotional campaign. I guess you thought it was about chocolates.
Shizuka: So I came to the wrong place.
Daiki: For chocolates? Yes. But you’re in luck. There’s a good chocolate shop across the street.
Shizuka: Thank you for your help.
Daiki: No problem.
Ethan: Yeah, it was on sale.
Aoi: It looks so professional. You can fit a laptop in it.
Ethan: Of course. I actually see many business people using these same backpacks.
Aoi: I suppose there isn’t much of a gap between the young and the old now.
Ethan: Right. In terms of fashion, everyone tends to dress alike.
Aoi: My father complains that he looks like a high school student.
Ethan: What’s wrong with that?
Aoi: Nothing, I guess.
