今回は「すすめる」。日常頻繁に使われる動詞です。
Today’s dialog
海外からの顧客のダイソンさんをナツミがお蕎麦屋さんへ連れてきました。
Mr. Dyson: So this is a real soba noodle restaurant. I love the atmosphere. Do we take off our shoes here?
Natsumi: Yes, you can put your shoes on the rack over here.
Mr. Dyson: And we just sit on the floor like this?
Natsumi: Yes, that’s right. Here is the menu. There are no photos, unfortunately.
Mr. Dyson: What do you recommend?
Natsumi: Well, what I usually order is the cold soba with shrimp tempura on the side.
Mr. Dyson: That sounds wonderful. I’ll have that too.

What do you recommend?
recommend は「すすめる」を意味する標準的な単語です。recommend は後ろに名詞、動詞 -ing 形のほか、節をとることもできます。
The school principal recommended that my daughter (should) apply to Oxbridge.
「こうしたらいいんじゃない」と自分の提案を差し出す動詞は suggest。
I suggest you phone her and say you’re sorry.
propose（提案する）は、事前によく練られた提案で、しっかりとした提案であることが感じられます。
I propose a radical downsizing of the company.

for the sake of は「～のために」。
