Cindy: Thank you, Mr. Emori. I’ve never read haiku in front of an audience before, so I’m nervous.

Mr. Emori: Just relax, and you’ll do fine.

Cindy: OK. So, I will read a haiku I wrote in a Japanese tea garden.

Mr. Emori: I’m sorry, Cindy. Could you speak a little louder, so everyone can hear you?

Cindy: Sure, no problem. So, here goes… “In the light of autumn …”

とても緊張したのでたくさんミスをしました。

My kids were so excited about the party that they couldn’t sleep.
