Yoko: Sho, it’s 5 a.m. Time to get up!
Sho: I’m up, I’m up. Please don’t shout, Grandma.
Yoko: Are you going to run today?
Sho: Yes, I will.
Yoko: Great! I’ll race you to Sakurayama Park!
Sho: No way! I know you’ll win.
Yoko: What are you talking about? I’ m 70, and you’re only 14.
Sho: Yeah, but you run every morning, and you’re the town’s senior marathon champion!
Yoko: So what? We can still run together!

Lesson 001 Summary

Sho’s grandmother Yoko is very active.

Sho: Good morning, Yota.

Yota: Exactly. In soccer, we learn how to run different speeds at different times. Soccer is all about timing, but racing is all about speed. They’re completely different.
Sho: Yeah, I guess.
Yota: Why don’t you ask your grandmother? I bet she can give you great advice. I mean, she is the senior marathon champion.
Sho: No, it’s all right. I’ll go on ahead. See you later.

Lesson 003 Summary

Sho wants to run faster, so he says to his friend Yota, “(   )you give me some advice?”
Yota plays soccer and he thinks soccer and racing are completely different.

Lesson 004 We have one reservation!

Sho: I’m home.

Sho: Sure, that’s easy. We have one reservation! His name is David Callahan. He is coming from Chicago, an American city.
Yoko: Wow! A guest from America?!
Sho: He wants to stay from the day before the sakura festival. Welcome to Hanasato Ryokan!
