ダイエットのためにジムに来ているヨシが、近くにいる女性にマシンの使い方を尋ねます。
Barbara: Thanks.
Yoshi: Um, I don’t mean to bother you, but could you tell me how to use them?
Barbara: Sure, hold on. OK, first you need to pick your course.
Yoshi: Course?
Barbara: Yes, there are a variety of courses. I’d recommend “easy climb” for starters.
Yoshi: OK, is that all?
Barbara: Then, you just enter the time you want to exercise. So, for example, 30 minutes.
Yoshi: Oh, 20 minutes is fine. Thank you!
Barbara: No problem. Have fun.

レンジが新しく家庭教師となったアオイと人類の起源について話しています。
Aoi: Well, I’m no expert, but I have read some books. Why?
Renji: I’m curious about the origin of the human race.
Aoi: It is still a big mystery.
Renji: Where do you think humans came from?
Aoi: As far as we know, humans started in Africa a very long time ago.
Renji: So, we are all from Africa?
Aoi: In a manner of speaking, yes. Of course, it wasn’t called “Africa” back then.
Renji: Interesting.

大学生のギャリーとヘレンが、学生寮で映画を見ています。
Gary: It’s the first Ramenator movie.
Helen: Oh, again? Right, now it looks familiar. There’s the Ramenator. Arnold Sylvester looks so young here.
Gary: He sure does. This movie was made over 30 years ago.
Helen: And I love the female lead. She was so strong. What was the name of her character? It’s on the tip of my tongue.
Gary: Ginger.
Helen: Oh, right! Ginger Yale. Not ginger ale.
Gary: Ha-ha! There is a bottle in the fridge.

Brian: Welcome back, Taeko. It’s good to see you again.
Taeko: It’s great to see you too. I love the blue skies here.
Brian: Yes, the weather is usually good. So, how was your flight?
Taeko: Fine. It wasn’t so long this time.
Brian: You must be starving. How about getting some lunch first?
Taeko: Great idea!
Brian: So, what kind of food do you like?
Taeko: Thai food would be nice.
Brian: Thai? I know just the place. Let’s go.
