Listening Challenge!
Daiki: I think I am. These bad sidewalks drive me crazy! Why doesn’t the city fix them?
Jeannie: Let me see your leg, sir.
Daiki: Ouch!!
Jeannie: Your ankle seems to be twisted. Dr. Stein can drive you to the hospital in his car.
Daiki: Who is Dr. Stein?
Jeannie: He is my…creator.
Daiki: Creator? Wait. You’re an android?
Jeannie: Yes, that is correct.
Daiki: Huh. Well, I’d really appreciate a ride. What’s your name?
Jeannie: Jeannie.
Daiki: Jeannie, I’m Daiki.
What does Jeannie offer to do for Daiki?
A: Fix the sidewalk.
B: Take him home.
C: Have Dr. Stein drive him to the hospital.
Doug: Sure, no problem.
Shiho: Slow down. See that sign up ahead? Turn right there.
Doug: OK. It’s hard to see well in this foggy weather.
Shiho: Keep going. It should be around here. Oh, this is it coming up.
Doug: I see a parking lot. I’ll pull in there.
Shiho: Look up, Doug. You can see the tower!
Doug: The sun’s starting to come out, too. What a dramatic view!
Shiho: It’s turning into a sunny day!
A: Doug turned up the music.
B: Shiho didn’t see the tower.
C: Doug will pull into a parking lot.
Daiki: Barbara! What brings you here?
Barbara: You, of course. I heard that you tripped and hurt yourself.
Daiki: Yeah, lousy sidewalks. I guess I was being careless.
Barbara: I brought you a fruit basket. There’s a big melon in it.
Daiki: Ah…that’s so sweet of you, Barbara. Thank you!
Barbara: You’re welcome. So, how did you get to the hospital?
Daiki: That’s the crazy part. An android helped me get here.
Barbara: Android? Was his name…Frankie?
Daiki: No, it was a female android.
A: Some sweets.
B: Some fruit.
C: Some flowers.
Alexis: Hello. I’m looking for a limited edition watch. Here’s a photo of it.
Clerk: Oh, I know the one. Unfortunately, we don’t carry that item anymore.
Alexis: Really? I heard that they were available here.
Clerk: They were until recently. I’m very sorry, ma’am.
Alexis: Aww man. It’s such a pretty watch….
Clerk: Do you have a membership card? If you do, I can give you 10% off any of our other watches.
Alexis: I do. I always carry it, just in case.
A: A membership card.
B: A limited edition watch.
C: A photo of herself.
