Alana: Did you have a cavity?
Hiroki: Yeah, two cavities. I was in shock.
Alana: But your dentist detected them in their early stage, right?
Hiroki: Yes. That was lucky.

娘の初めてのピアノ発表会の直前に、夫が妻に話しかけています。
Wife: You asked me just five minutes ago.
Husband: Did I? So, how long?
Wife: About ten minutes, OK?
Husband: Ten minutes? She must be really nervous right now.
Wife: No, she’s fine. You’re the one who’s nervous.
Husband: No, I’m not. I just want her recital to be a great success, that’s all.
Wife: Listen. I told you that yesterday’s rehearsal went really well. Stop worrying.
Husband: OK. So, how long now?
Wife: Aargh!

①夫と食事に行くことになり、あなたはペットの同伴が可能なレストランを選びました。飼い犬のチビがまだたいへん幼く、放っておけないと思ったのです。
「どうしてそのレストランに決めたの？」と尋ねる夫に答えてください。
表現例
②あなたはキャサリンからのしつこい電話に悩まされています。友人が、あなたがフランス語が得意なことを彼女に話してしまい、あなたに教えてもらいたがっているのです。電話をやめるよう友人からキャサリンに話してもらってください。
例えば「キャサリンに電話をやめるように言ってくれますか？ 彼女は僕にフランス語を教えて欲しいのです。時間がないので断りましたが、本当にしつこいのです」など。
