Listening Challenge!
william: He’ll be back next Friday. However, he won’t start teaching again until next month.
Roxy: Where did he go anyway? Do you know?
William: I heard a rumor that he went to the South Pacific with Jessica. However, I’m not sure if it’s true.
Roxy: Well, Jessica isn’t here either, so maybe it’s true.
William: He’s sort of a mysterious person, isn’t he?
Roxy: Yeah, I think he has a lot of secrets.
Kelly: Somebody famous must be arriving in Tokyo today.
Takuma: Look, that poster says, “Welcome, the Desperate Rats!”
Kelly: Oh, yeah, they’re having their final tour. I heard about that.
Takuma: When I was in college, I went to one of their live concerts. That was a long time ago.
Kelly: It’s probably too late to get tickets for their Tokyo concert.
Takuma: Yeah, probably. Kelly, can you wait here while I go to the bathroom?
Kelly: Sure.
Bill: Hey! Have you been a fan of the band for a long time?
Sachimi: Yes, since junior high school! I went to your famous Melon-kan concert!
Bill: Wow, you were at Melon-kan? That’s one of our best albums.
Sachimi: Although I was at the concert, I don’t have the album.
Bill: That’s OK. Some people prefer live performances. We love all our Japanese fans.
Sachimi: Bill, I don’t want this to be your last concert.
Bill: Awww…thank you, Sachimi. Maybe I’ll go solo…
Dr. Stein: Who’s calling my name?
Barbara: It’s me, Barbara!
Dr. Stein: Barbara, my favorite real estate agent! What are you doing here?
Barbara: I was about to ask you the same question.
Dr. Stein: Well, despite being the oldest person in the audience, I attended the concert!
Barbara: You’re a fan of the Desperate Rats?
Dr. Stein: I remember them from their early days. They played a completely different kind of music back then.
Barbara: It wasn’t heavy metal?
Dr. Stein: No, it was more like folk music.
Barbara: They’ve changed a lot.
