今週のラジオ英会話は、スペシャルウイークで、ニュースやユーモア･早口言葉等の英語に接する一週間です。
このニュースを聞くのが僕は全くの苦手です。

Japanese student completes “Grand Slam”
A 20-year-old university student has become the first Japanese person and the world’s youngest to scale the highest mountain on each of the seven continents and reach the opposite ends of the earth.
The explorer is Marin Minamiya; she is the 53rd person to complete what’s known as the Explorers Grand Slam.
She began her quest in January 2015. She reached the summit of Mt. Everest in May last year and, two months later, became the youngest Japanese person to scale the seven summits.
Minamiya told reporters that she was amazed at Earth’s beauty and that she was relieved to be home and sleep in her own bed.
Minamiya said she hopes her accomplishment helps motivate other young people to pursue their dreams.
She now has her sights set on ocean adventures.

日本人学生が「グランドスラム」を達成
20歳の大学生が、日本人として初めて、そして世界最年少で、世界7大陸の最高峰を制覇し南北両極に到達しました。
この冒険家は南谷真鈴さんで、「エクスプローラーズ・グランドスラム」として知られるこの記録の達成は、史上53番目です。
南谷さんは2015年1月から冒険の旅を開始し、昨年5月にはエベレスト山に登頂し、その2ヶ月後に、日本人最年少で7最高峰を制覇しました。
南宮さんは記者会見で、地球の美しさに目を見張った､帰宅し自分のベッドで眠れてほっとしていると語りました。
また、自分の記録達成がほかの若者たちが夢に向かうことにつながればと思うと語りました。
今後は海洋での冒険を視野に入れていくということです。
