Dad: Probably 17 years ago. This is where I proposed to your mother.
Roxy: You proposed to Mom over a French dinner? How romantic, Dad!
Dad: And you know what’s even more romantic?
Roxy: What?
Dad: I gave her a bouquet of red roses before I popped the question.
Roxy: Oh, that’s so sweet!

机に向かって何かを組み立てているギャリーに、ヘレンが声を掛けます。
Gary: Helen, hi. No, of course not. Have a seat.
Helen: What are you doing? There are so many bits and pieces everywhere.
Gary: I’m making a drone. My hobby is making drones with bright lights. I like flying them at night.
Helen: But somebody may see it and think it’s a UFO.
Gary: Who cares? “UFO” doesn’t mean it’s an alien spaceship.
Helen: Right. It just means “unidentified flying object.”
Gary: Exactly.

Bob: Well, I went to art school, so I know a few techniques.
Sally: I bought a watercolor painting on the internet, and I want to get your opinion.
Bob: Can I see it?
Sally: Sure, here it is. It’s a painting of a scene in Copenhagen.
Bob: It’s not bad, but this picture was painted by an amateur. I can tell.
Sally: I paid $1,000 for it.
Bob: $1,000? That’s definitely too much.

田植え体験を終えたばかりのネルソンがサナエと話しています。
Nelson: It was fun, but I didn’t realize planting rice was such hard work!
Sanae: You look exhausted.
Nelson: I’m OK, but my back is a little sore. I’m not used to using these muscles.
Sanae: Me neither. Most people do it with machines these days, but my family prefers the traditional hand-planting method.
Nelson: It’s good to preserve such traditions, but it’s definitely not good for my back!
SAY IT IN ENGLISH! ～英語で声に出して表現してみましょう～
英語で下記の内容を表現してみよう。必ず声に出して練習しよう。
①あなたは夫と初めてキスしたゾウ動物園のことを思い出して、ウキウキしています。もう一度行こうと彼を誘ってください。
例えば「ゾウ動物園を覚えている？ そこは初めてキスした場所だったわね。 もう一度そこに行くのもいいアイデアだと思っているんだけど。 今週末はどう？」など。
表現例
②オフィスに行くと、コンピューターの前でフラストレーションが溜まっている様子の同僚が。よくコンピューターで困っている同僚なのです。さっそく助けを申し出てください。
例えば「どうしたの？イライラしてるみたいだ。またコンピューターで問題が起こっているようだね。 君は僕にいつでも助けを求めていいって知っているよね。 ちょっと見せて」など。
