Lesson 067 とどまる : stay、remain
レッスンのポイント
今回は「とどまる」を意味する重要動詞を２つ。stay と remain。動きのない静かなイメージを持つ動詞です。
Today’s dialog
スペイン旅行に行っていたナナコにハンスが様子を尋ねます。
Hans: How was your trip to Spain?
Nanako: It was very productive. Now we have enough information for this autumn’s travel brochure.
Hans: I hope so. Customers have become bored with the usual places in Spain.
Nanako: We stayed in Barcelona for three nights. We spent a lot of time in the new downtown area.
Hans: Excellent. That’s the area we should focus on this time.
Nanako: Exactly. There are a lot of new shops there.
Hans: I’m looking forward to seeing the brochure.
