J: I can’t wait to take down those birdfeeders!
M: The birds are really getting to you.
J: It’s not only that. There’s construction going on next door at work.
M: Oh?
J: They’ve been jackhammering for the last four days. I can’t hear myself think!
M: Have you talked to the construction crew foreman?
J: That won’t do any good.
M: You never know.
